Founded in April 2020 during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, Talon Protection Group has been servicing its clients throughout the greater Portland Metropolitan Area providing a service that is in high demand due to rising crime, reduced police responsiveness, and many other challenges that have been increasingly more common over the last several years. Talon was created to provide highly professional security officers to give our clients solutions to an increasing problem.
Per KGW8 News, “it’s not uncommon for people to wait 30 minutes or even up to an hour, but several hours is unusual” when referring to calls placed to Multnomah County’s non-emergency number. Last year, Multnomah County’s 911 Twitter account even asked members of the public to avoid calling the non-emergency number due to their limited staffing. Even calls placed to 911 in 2021 were reaching an average of 63 seconds before a call taker could answer the call, and that time has only increased.
In July 2023, Koin News was showing an average of 21 minutes for police response for the highest priority calls due to the increase in violent crimes, as well as increasing staffing issues. Their lower priority calls, however, averaged an 83-minute response time. Unfortunately, this means that calls for noise complaints, suspicious persons, vandalism and property damage are often going unanswered.

Our officers drive clearly marked, GPS tracked patrol vehicles and are fully equipped with the tools and training necessary to safely and efficiently handle any issues you may be facing on your property. Every Talon officer wears body worn cameras so every interaction on your property is recorded. In addition to call/alarm response, our officers will conduct regular patrols of your property and work proactively to deter crime and identify safety risks on our clients’ property.

Talon Protection vehicles are easily identifiable to our clients and are GPS tracked. Every morning our clients are sent reports letting them know when Talon officers have entered and exited the geo-fence boundaries of their property and how often and how long they were there. Talon also allows every client the ability to view body camera footage from incidents on their property.
